The Evolution Paradox

A new, interesting scientific paper:

Quote:

Global challenges like climate change are much harder to solve than previously considered,” says Waring. “It’s not just that they are the hardest thing our species has ever done. They absolutely are. The bigger problem is that central features in human evolution are likely working against our ability to solve them. To solve global collective challenges we have to swim upstream.”

Waring and his colleagues think that their analysis can help navigate the future of human evolution on a limited Earth. Their paper is the first to propose

that human evolution may oppose climate solution,

In the scientific paper "An Assessment of Earth's Climate Sensitivity...." we can anticipate a whole spectrum

of examples, because the scientific conclusions are wrong, dangerous and hinder a global climate solution.

The history of Semmelweiss in 1850 shows how all medical professors in Europe

thought the same erroneous thoughts. This is of course a consequence of human evolution. Here is the basis for the peer pressure that opposes all new ideas and dismisses all dissenters, both those who think wrong and those who find the truth.

Here is the pride in fancy titles and fancy words and the contempt to

test the conclusions against the simple facts which nature presents and which everyone

can understand.

Semmelweiss was able to prove his theses in a short time and all the

professors could repeat this. Since it was not known that bacteria

existed, highly educated professors could ignore all simple experiments

and continue to oppose the idea of washing hands before surgery.

We must be humble enough to understand that all this is being repeated with full force today.

Psychological research has also established that approximately 3% of the world's

population are psychopaths and this group is responsible for most of the world's misery.

Solving the climate crisis may require that knowledge about psychopaths be included in the curriculum of every class from kindergarten to university.

Much more research is needed in this area, and awareness needs to be raised

among researchers who draft important scientific papers.

Now, more than ever, it is important to swim against the tide, risking your

scientific prestige in order to put truth first.

This is arduous but essential for the survival of civilization.

Characteristic processes of human evolution caused the Anthropocene and may obstruct its global solutions” by Timothy M. Waring, Zachary T. Wood and Eörs Szathmáry, 1 January 2024, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B.

Another important paradox concerns Peer Review. The scientific papers that are

historical highlights, that change the world, can never get approved for Peer Review.

An example would be Maxwell's equations  from 1871.

It took  30 years for the next person on this planet to understand them.

Yet they laid the foundation for modern physics, for the theory of relativity and for TV and cell phones.

A Peer Review can only approve an idea, where many people are thinking the same thing.

This is why , as example, hundreds of scientific papers on climate sensitivity=3 have passed

Peer Review because so many scientists make the same error in thinking.

The brilliant, historical highlights that are being generated right now

to save life on earth are all systematically discarded by Peer Review.

This is a typical characteristic process of human evolution caused by  Anthropocene that

obstructs global climate solutions.

We make every effort to seek and follow mediocre ideas while the really great, genius ones,

is discarded and discouraged.

Countries' research could be much more powerful if these paradoxes are fully understood.

that human evolution may oppose climate solution,
